What does carrier-unlocked mean?
A carrier-unlocked phone can use SIMs or eSIMs from networks other than the one that sold the phone. A locked phone can block the travel eSIM from connecting.
Why does Wi-Fi matter?
You need internet access to download and activate the eSIM profile. Installing on strong Wi-Fi before travel is the safer option.
